7 Day Bike Tour

What to expect...

This is combination of Wild Coast and Lesotho with 3 days Wildcoast and 4 Days Lesotho. Also for the advanced riders.

Day 1

Group will be collected from East London Airport and transported to Kei Mouth. A great days ride to Kob Inn – 85km. The route takes us past the famous Jacaranda shipwreck and many river crossings.

The Kobonqaba, Cebe and Qora being our big 3 for Day 1. The gorge between Mazeppa Bay and Kob Inn being the BIG ONE. The degree of difficulty is about 3 out of 5. Overnight at Kob Inn Hotel.

Day 2

Group departs from Kob Inn along the coast over the Jujura River and onto the magnificent Shixini point. We head north to cross this mighty river and pass Beecham wood onto our regroup with the back up vehicle at Bashee River.

After leaving the Bashee we head through the Haven reserve and onto our Beach house at Xora.

Day 3

Ride to Coffee Bay - the Best riding in the world!!!!!. We cross the Xora river about 6km upstream and wind our way down to Bulungulu and up the coast. Beautiful scenery and massive grass hills make this a very special day.

The final mine Chute to the magnificent Hole in the Wall and Coffee Bay brings this stunning day to an end. A visit to the local backpackers for a drumming experience is on offer.

Day 4

Team loads bikes and travels up to Lesotho. We are now in the heart of the Roof of Africa Africa riding territory. We offload the bikes and do a great 4hr ride up to the pony trekking lodge called Malealea with the lodge being at the base of the infamous “Slide your ass” pass.

Day 5

Early morning wake up call and the group heads up along the challenging Ribaneng gorge. This 78 km ride climbs nearly 4000 ft as it tackles rocky river beds, technical climbs and fast single track routes. We finally arrive at the beautiful Ramabanta Lodge at the base of the tough 23km baboons pass, our Day 6 challenge.

Day 6

It’s not a long day but Baboons Pass is infamous with 41 Years of the Extreme Roof of Africa. It’s a wonderful way to end the tour with the 23km climb that is a true test. On reaching the top we can either tackle the downhill or take the scenic long way around. Most groups choose the easier long way round.

Day 7

An early breakfast and we load the bikes and transport guests in air conditioned bus back to Port Elizabeth. We can arrange for the group to be transported back to Johannesburg (5hrs drive) at an additional cost of R500 per person.

Costs

The typical package cost is ZAR29 500 excl vat per person.
